Police Chase Collision Injures Woman in Oakland
Oakland, CA (July 20, 2024) — A car involved in a police chase struck and injured a 22-year-old woman at the intersection of Fruitvale Avenue and Foothill Boulevard on Saturday afternoon, July 20.
The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. as Daly City police were pursuing a suspect driving a gray Lexus. As a result, the suspect’s vehicle hit the victim, who was celebrating her birthday, as she was stepping out of a store. Witnesses reported that the impact launched her into the air before she fell to the ground.
The Female Victim Was Treated For Her Injuries at a Nearby Hospital
For example, emergency responders arrived promptly, and an ambulance transported the woman to a hospital for treatment. But unfortunately, her current condition remains unknown.
Witnesses reported that a man, appearing to be in his twenties, exited the car and fled the scene on foot, while police apprehended another suspect.
A Daly City Police Department SUV, which sustained front-end damage during the chase, was towed away from the scene.
