Woman Driving a Mazda SUV Recklessly Crossed Double Yellow Lines Causing A Chain Reaction of Collisions
The woman, operating a Mazda SUV at a high rate of speed, crossed over the double yellow lines and bypassed stopped traffic. In a chain reaction of collisions, the SUV first sideswiped a stationary Dodge Journey in the southbound lane, then rear-ended a BMW X-1, pushing it into an Audi A4. A passing Toyota Highlander SUV subsequently broadsided the Mazda.
The series of crashes resulted in the woman sustaining significant injuries, ultimately leading to her death at the hospital.
Occupants of the Other Vehicles Suffered Varying Degrees of Injuries
The occupants of the other vehicles also experienced varying degrees of injuries. Three individuals in the BMW, a 45-year-old woman, and two juveniles aged 12 and 15, suffered minor injuries. In the Audi, a 29-year-old man and a 4-year-old girl sustained minor injuries, while the 42-year-old woman driving the Toyota Highlander also suffered minor injuries. Fortunately, the 48-year-old woman driving the Dodge Journey emerged unharmed.
