Fatal Multi-Car Crash on 580 Freeway Claims One
OAKLAND, CA (September 10, 2024) – A fatal multi-car accident occurred on the eastbound 580 Freeway near Seminary Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in one death, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Oakland office.
The collision took place around 1:00 p.m. under unclear circumstances, involving two to three vehicles. Therefore, CHP officers, along with a Coroner, were dispatched to the scene due to the fatality.
Authorities Have Yet To Identify The Deceased of This Fatal Accident
Authorities have not yet identified the deceased or provided details about other potential injuries. The crash also prompted Caltrans crews to repair a damaged guardrail in the area.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The CHP urges anyone with information related to the crash to contact them and assist traffic investigators.
