Victims Identified in Multi-Car Crash in Fullerton
Fullerton, CA (April 13th, 2023) – Two people lost their lives in a devastating multi-vehicle crash that occurred in Fullerton on Sunday morning, April 9. The authorities have identified Antonia Mendez Ruiz and Bryan Tacadena Talladen as the victims.
The tragic incident happened at approximately 9:20 a.m. near the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Flower Avenue. According to the Fullerton Police Department, Ruiz and her husband were walking to an Easter celebration when the accident occurred. At the same time, an Audi sedan, driven by a 32-year-old driver, and a Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Talladen, were speeding, potentially street racing when they struck a Toyota Sienna that was making an eastbound turn onto Flower.

Talladen was ejected from his motorcycle due to the impact, while the Audi hit Ruiz and a bicyclist who were on the east sidewalk of Magnolia after veering off the roadway.
Sadly, both Ruiz, 68, and Talladen, 34, lost their lives in the crash. The 74-year-old driver of the Toyota Sienna and his 15-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. Emergency services transported the male bicyclist, who was in his 30s, to the hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the Audi only complained of pain.
In addition, the collision caused the destruction of a telephone pole and the rupture of a gas line. Emergency crews responded to the scene and worked to shut off the gas line while evacuating the area.
The Fullerton Police Department and the Orange County Fire Authority launched a joint investigation into the incident. Authorities believe that the Audi and Yamaha motorcycle were racing at high speeds at the time of the collision. They are urging anyone with information about the crash to come forward and help in the investigation.
