Young Woman Charged With DUI Following Crash In Chico
Chico, CA (April 28, 2024) – A drunk driver reportedly struck Randall Stone, former City of Chico Mayor, while he was crossing the street on Saturday night, leading to Stone being flown to UC Davis.
Lexy Cosper, 29, faces DUI charges following a collision near Warner Street and Ivy Street on Saturday evening, according to the Chico Police Department.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:36 p.m., when Cosper allegedly struck Randall Stone at the intersection while driving under the influence. Police officers responded to the scene and conducted sobriety tests before placing Cosper under arrest. Randall Stone was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center – Sacramento for treatment, with the extent of his injuries listed.
On Sunday night, Randall Stone took to social media to explain the ordeal and share photos of his injury. “I was helo’d to UC Davis in Sacramento. I’m very thankful,” Stone wrote in the post.
Ms. Cosper is currently detained at the Butte County Jail on charges of DUI causing injury and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level exceeding .08%.
