Pedestrian Struck and Killed on 99 Hwy near Esplanade in Chico
Chico, CA (February 25, 2024) – Oroville resident Eliasar Seadler was involved in a fatal pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near Esplanade, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Reports indicate that a male pedestrian was in the southbound lane of the highway for reasons unknown. Seadler, driving a semi-truck, noticed the pedestrian and attempted to avoid the collision by slamming on his brakes. Despite his efforts, Seadler’s semi-truck struck the pedestrian, resulting in the victim’s passing.
