Woman Seriously Injured by Hit-and-Run in Santa Ana

A hit-and-run driver in Santa Ana seriously injured a woman on Thursday as she was crossing the street, according to the police report.

The accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. Emergency responders arrived at the scene on Bristol Street near Elder Avenue, only to find the woman unconscious. One of her shoes had flown off because of the impact of the collision.

The woman is being described as about 50 to 60 years old. She was in serious condition when she was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the car fled and police are still interviewing witnesses for more information regarding the accident.
