Fatal Rollover Accident Kills 1 on Hwy 99 in Yuba City
Yuba City, CA (May 20, 2024) – A fatal rollover accident on Highway 99 early Monday morning claimed the life of a 28-year-old Antioch man. Furthermore, the incident occurred around 2:07 a.m. on May 20, just south of Richland Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the man was driving a silver 2011 Acura RDX northbound on the highway. However, witnesses reported the vehicle weaving heavily and struggling to stay in its lane. After passing the Lincoln Road intersection, the Acura entered the paved center divider, sharply turned right, then veered onto the right shoulder before turning sharply left and overturning.
The Man Who Was Killed Was Not Wearing a Seat Belt and Was Ejected Through the Windshield
The vehicle rolled over, ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, through the windshield.
The accident injured two passengers, a 28-year-old man from Yuba City and a 3-year-old girl, who were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
In addition, the CHP suspects drugs may have been a factor in the crash and is conducting a thorough investigation.
