Fiery Crash Near Watt Avenue Shuts Down Highway 50
Sacramento, CA (February 26, 2025) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 50 early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred on February 26 at approximately 6:43 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Watt Avenue. The accident involved a pickup truck and another vehicle, though the exact cause remains under investigation.

The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to catch fire, prompting an emergency response. So then, first responders transported two individuals to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. But, the identities of those involved have not been disclosed.
CHP Shuts Down Lanes On Highway 50 To Facilitate Clean Up and An Investigation
Authorities temporarily shut down affected lanes to facilitate rescue efforts and also to investigate the scene. But fortunately, all lanes were reopened by 8:05 a.m.
