One Injured in Big Rig Collision on 5 Freeway in Greenhaven Neighborhood
SACRAMENTO, CA (November 12, 2024) – An early morning accident involving a big rig left one person injured Tuesday on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the 43rd Avenue exit in Sacramento’s Greenhaven neighborhood. Emergency responders arrived on the scene at approximately 5:56 a.m. to find two vehicles involved in the collision.
According to authorities, a big rig and an unidentified vehicle collided for reasons that are still under investigation. Paramedics treated one male victim at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital for further care. Also, the condition of the injured individual has not been released, and police have yet to confirm the exact cause of the crash.

The Sacramento Police Department has launched an investigation to determine any additional factors that may have contributed to the incident, and to get closure in this case.
