Sacramento Highway 50 Accident Leaves 36 Year Old Pedestrian Dead
Sacramento, CA (January 19, 2025) — A pedestrian accident on Highway 50 west of 15th Street claimed the life of 36-year-old Richard Allen Ray on Sunday evening, January 19. Also, the fatal collision occurred around 10:00 p.m.
Richard Ray Was Struck By A Red Kia Forte Travelling East at 65 MPH
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Ray was struck by a red Kia Forte traveling eastbound at approximately 65 mph. The female driver of the Kia reported seeing something in the roadway just before the collision but was unable to swerve or stop in time.
Richard Ray Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene
Ray sustained fatal injuries, and authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Also, authorities do not consider alcohol or drugs to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances of the accident and urges drivers to remain vigilant and exercise caution, especially on highways and in low-visibility conditions.
