2 Killed in Solo-Car Crash in Modesto
Modesto, CA (June 16, 2024) – In the early hours of Sunday morning, a single-car accident at the intersection of Carpenter Road and Hatch Road resulted in the deaths of Pedro Rivera and Nathaniel Perez.
Also, according to the Modesto Police Department, the fatal crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. As a result, a 2008 Honda, driven by one of the victims, lost control for unknown reasons, causing the vehicle to collide with an island at the intersection and a signal light pole on the southeast corner.
Pedro Rivera and Nathaniel Perez Were Pronounced Dead At The Scene
Emergency responders from the Modesto Police and paramedics arrived promptly at the scene. But unfortunately, they were unable to save 19-year-old Pedro Ruiz Rivera and 20-year-old Nathaniel Perez, whose identities were recently confirmed by the Stanislaus County Coroner.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the accident and whether alcohol or drugs played a role. So therefore, authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist traffic investigators to contact the Modesto Police Department.
