The fateful occurrence took place at approximately 11:13 p.m. on August 13, in close proximity to 29th Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a male pedestrian was attempting to traverse the freeway from the south shoulder when he was struck by a car.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene and administered vital first aid to the injured man before promptly transferring him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Unfortunately, despite the medical team’s dedicated efforts, the victim’s injuries were insurmountable, leading to his pronouncement of death at 12:12 a.m. on Monday. Currently, the victim’s identity remains undisclosed to the public, as proper notification of his next of kin is pending.
In a commendable display of responsibility, the driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement officers throughout the aftermath of the accident.
