Closure of Lanes Following Wrong-Way Crash in Mountain View

Mountain View, CA (March 31, 2024) – Police closed several lanes on Highway 101 near Rengstorff Avenue following a wrong-way accident Sunday morning.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the two-car collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. when a driver, for reasons yet to be determined, entered the southbound lanes while traveling northbound. The wrong-way vehicle collided with another car near the Rengstorff Avenue off-ramp.

Emergency Responders Arrived Quickly To Close Lanes And Attend To The Wreckage

Emergency responders and law enforcement arrived at the scene promptly, closing the two left lanes to facilitate an investigation. Details regarding any injuries sustained in the crash or the circumstances leading to the wrong-way driving were not immediately available.
