Malibu Hit-and-run Crash Kills Pedestrian on Pacific Coast Highway

MALIBU, CA (June 6, 2022) – Early in the morning on Saturday in Malibu, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The June 4 crash occurred on Pacific Coast Highway in the 27000 block, close to Via Escondido.

The time was roughly 12:45 a.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The pedestrian was walking across Pacific Coast Highway, and a vehicle–which had been heading west–hit him. The driver did not remain at the crash site or help the victim.

Responders transported the victim to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital.

His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect driver, neither of which has been described.
