According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident unfolded on December 2, at approximately 9:18 p.m. The tragedy occurred as a 2012 Infiniti, traveling at a high rate of speed for reasons still under investigation, failed to slow down and collided with the rear of a 2019 Ford van near the Hood Franklin Road exit.
