Elderly Drunk Driver Crashes into Convenience Store

A Lexus sedan, driven by a 75-year-old man who was possibly drunk, crashed into a 7-Eleven convenience store early Thursday in Fountain Valley.

The accident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. near Heil Avenue and Harbor Boulevard.

According to one witness, the man revved his engine and then struck the witness’ car, before driving into the front of the building.

As officers were about to give the man a field sobriety test, he fell off the curb and hit his head. He was transferred to hospital and expected to undergo a sobriety test there.
