Collision in El Cajon Kills Skateboarder

A skateboarder riding across a road in El Cajon was hit by a vehicle Wednesday night. The skateboarder died at the scene. The accident happened a little after 6:00 p.m. on December 21, 2011, when the skateboarder was riding in the 1200 block of Jamacha Road according to Lt. Frank La Haye of the El Cajon police. As reported by NBC San Diego, a 20-year-old driver in a Nissan struck the skateboarder, and remained at the accident site. A witness, who happened to be passing by, attempted to administer first aid to the victim until paramedics responded, Officer La Haye said.

The identity of the victim was not released as of this writing. The investigation is continuing.
