Daniel Miller Charged in DUI, Police Pursuit Crash at Sierra and San Bernardino Avenues
Fontana, CA (May 3, 2023) – On April 27, Daniel Miller was arrested after leading police on a chase that ended in a collision. The incident happened at the intersection of Sierra Avenue and San Bernardino Avenue. Authorities suspected Miller, a 33-year-old driver, of driving under the influence.
According to Fontana Police, officers received a call about a reckless and possibly intoxicated driver in the area around 3:49 p.m. The officer who responded to the call spotted a black Hyundai Elantra swerving in the north lanes near the intersection and attempted to make a traffic stop.
The Crash Sent Another Person To A Local Fontana Hospital
However, Miller refused to comply and instead led police on a chase. He continued to speed until he crashed into two other cars that were waiting at a red traffic light at Sierra Avenue and San Bernardino Avenue.
As a precaution, the local hospital took one person involved in the accident to receive medical treatment due to sustained injuries. Meanwhile, police took Miller into custody after he sustained injuries while fleeing. Police officers booked him into West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Authorities have not released any further details regarding the chase or the accident. However, they will continue to investigate the incident to determine other factors that may have contributed to the collision.
