Car and Motorcycle Involved In Multi Vehicle Crash on Hwy 154

Lake Cachuma, CA (April 24, 2023) – Four people were injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a car. The accident happened on Highway 154 near Lake Cachuma on Saturday evening.  According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision happened around 6:15 p.m. and resulted in critical injuries to a male and female riding the motorcycle, while two occupants of the car sustained minor injuries.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and the Santa Barbara County Fire Department transported all four patients to Cottage Hospital for treatment. Due to the accident, both directions of the highway experienced a double-lane closure, which lasted until 8:00 p.m.

The CHP officers from the Buellton area will be investigating the cause of the accident, and they urge anyone with more information to come forward and contact them.

The CHP reminded drivers to exercise caution while operating motorcycles, given the heightened risk of accidents. Drivers must pay attention to fast-moving vehicles. Motorcycles go fast on highways, so stay alert when changing lanes or turning.
