YUBA CITY, CA (April 15, 2025) — A collision between a semi-truck and a dark blue BMW resulted in major injuries early Tuesday on southbound Highway 99, just south of Oswald Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was first reported at approximately 5:29 a.m. on April 15. But, preliminary information indicates that the semi-truck collided with the BMW, coming to a stop in the center lane of the highway.

Sutter County Sheriff’s Arrived and Quickly Upgraded The Scene To A Major Injury Incident

Emergency crews from the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office and paramedics responded swiftly to the scene. By 5:52 a.m., CHP confirmed the crash as a major injury incident. Emergency responders transported at least one person to a nearby hospital, though they have not released the person’s condition or identity.

The BMW sustained significant rear axle damage and was found roughly 30 feet off the roadway in a ditch.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by CHP officials. Drivers are reminded to exercise extra caution during early morning hours, when limited visibility and changing road conditions can increase the risk of collisions.
