No Serious Injuries Reported In Head-On Collision On Highway 12 in Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA, CA (April 7, 2025) – A head-on collision between two vehicles temporarily shut down both directions of traffic on Highway 12 Monday afternoon, just east of Oakmont Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The crash occurred around 12:50 p.m. and involved a gray Mazda MX-5 sports car and a red Chevrolet Bolt. The impact blocked both eastbound and westbound lanes, causing significant traffic delays in the area.

Local CHP Officers Responded Quickly To The Scene

CHP officers and emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene. Tow trucks were dispatched to remove the heavily damaged vehicles. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

Authorities worked to clear the scene and reopen the lanes, with traffic resuming normal flow by approximately 2:17 p.m.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
