Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car on Marconi Avenue
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 29, 2024) — A pedestrian was killed in a car accident Sunday evening on Marconi Avenue near Watt Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred when a westbound driver struck a person crossing in front of the vehicle for reasons that remain under investigation. But unfortunately, the impact severely injured the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Drugs and Alcohol Were NOT Factors In The Crash
CHP officers responded to the crash and conducted an investigation, determining that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the incident. But, authorities have not disclosed details about the driver involved, and they are withholding the identity of the deceased pedestrian pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the California Highway Patrol to assist in the investigation.
