1 Injured in Multi-Car Accident on 5 Freeway Near 80 Freeway
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 14, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision on the 5 Freeway near the 80 Freeway left 1 person injured Friday evening. The crash occurred just before 7:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities reported that the driver of a Hyundai rear-ended a Subaru. The impact sent it careening across all traffic lanes. But unfortunately, a big rig struck the Subaru on the side.
Injured Driver Found Unconscious Was Transported To Nearby Hospital
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the unconscious Subaru driver to a nearby hospital. The extent of the injuries remains unknown at this time.
Detectives closed the southbound lanes of the freeway around 7:00 p.m. to conduct their investigation. Officials have not disclosed the ultimate cause of the accident.
