San Jose Girl, 18, Killed After Being Struck By Pickup Truck In Freak Accident on Camden Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (September 18, 2024) — Paulina Mendoza lost her life after falling out of a truck that was performing donuts on Camden Avenue near Taper Avenue.
The San Jose Police Department reported that the tragic accident occurred Friday in the 14900 block of Camden Avenue. A man, driving a white 2006 Ford pickup truck while impaired, was performing donuts when his front-seat passenger, Paulina Verduzco Mendoza, fell out of the moving vehicle and onto the pavement. The truck then struck her.
Driver Did Take Paulina Mendoza To The Hospital, But Was Later Arrested For DUI
The driver took her to the hospital, but Mendoza succumbed to her severe injuries.
The driver, along with two male passengers, stayed at the scene for the investigation. Police arrested the driver and booked him into the Santa Clara County Jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, though they have not yet released his identity.
