5 Injured in High-Speed Collision on 80 Fwy at the Eureka Road Off-Ramp
Roseville, CA (July 21, 2024) – Dale Benjamin and Ryan Penano were among five individuals injured in a two-car accident on Sunday afternoon, July 21.
The collision occurred just before 3:00 p.m. on the 80 Freeway at the Eureka Road off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Dale Benjamin of Antelope was driving a 2017 Nissan Frontier at a high speed when he failed to navigate the cloverleaf. His vehicle crossed the median separating the freeway on-ramp from the Eureka Road off-ramp and broadsided a 2020 Hyundai Palisade driven by 43-year-old Ryan Penano of Rancho Cordova.
Dale Benjamin Sustained Major Injuries In The Crash
The impact caused the Hyundai Palisade to roll over, while the Frontier continued south across all lanes of the off-ramp, struck a metal guardrail, and went down a steep embankment.
Benjamin sustained major injuries, and his passenger suffered moderate injuries. Penano and his two juvenile passengers also sustained major injuries.
All five individuals were transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
All Occupants Were Wearing Seatbelts According To The CHP
The CHP confirmed that all occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
