Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Accident In Tenderloin District
San Francisco, CA (May 23, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Ellis Street and Jones Street on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the death of one individual. The incident took place around 12:40 p.m., according to the San Francisco Police Department.
A commercial truck struck a pedestrian for reasons that remain unclear. Emergency medical responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the deceased has not been released by authorities.
Driver of Truck Cooperated With Authorities
The driver of the commercial truck remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators. Police have stated that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
