Cupertino Man Charged with DUI For Striking 4 Children at Stevens Creek Boulevard
Cupertino, CA (April 27, 2024) – A harrowing incident unfolded at the intersection of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Foothill Boulevard in Cupertino, as four children were struck by a silver Mazda pickup truck driven by Adam Wu, who now faces DUI charges.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office reported that the pedestrian accident occurred at approximately 6:14 p.m. on Saturday. Adam Wu, a 38-year-old resident of Cupertino, allegedly lost control of his pickup truck due to driving under the influence. The vehicle collided with a car, a power pole, and ultimately, the group of children on the sidewalk.

Authorities said Monday that suspected DUI driver, Adam Wu, hit an 11-year-old girl and three other children last month in Cupertino, resulting in the girl’s death from her injuries.
Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, transporting all four children, aged 11, 8, 7, and 4, to a nearby hospital for treatment. Tragically, two of the children sustained serious injuries in the collision.
Following the incident, authorities arrested Adam Wu on charges of driving under the influence. The Sheriff’s Office has urged anyone with additional information regarding the crash to contact the Traffic Investigative Division at 408-868-6600.
