DUI Suspect Arrested after Fatally Striking Mother, Injuring 2 Children in Sacramento
Sacramento, CA (December 5, 2023) — In a heartbreaking incident on the evening of December 1, a woman lost her life following a DUI crash, resulting in the arrest of 26-year-old Alethea Lee. The fatal collision unfolded at approximately 6:05 p.m. along Pocket Road near Greenhaven Drive.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the suspect, Alethea Lee, was allegedly speeding in the area when she lost control of her vehicle, colliding with the victim and her two children. The impact of the crash prompted swift response from first responders, who rushed all three victims to a nearby hospital.
Authorities Determine Woman Was Indeed The Mother of the 2 Children
Tragically, the woman succumbed to her injuries on December 3, while her two children managed to survive the harrowing incident. Authorities reveal that the deceased woman is the mother of the two children but this is not yet official.
In the midst of the wreckage, the police take Alethea Lee into custody after she sustains an injury. Lee will now face a charge of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. Currently, authorities have her in custody at the Sacramento County Jail with bail set at $450,000.
