SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 31, 2023) — In a devastating incident on Saturday afternoon, October 28, 65 year old Richard D. May lost his life in a fatal collision on Post Street in Lower Nob Hill area of San Francisco.

The fatal crash occurred just after 11:00 a.m. in the vicinity of Leavenworth Street and Hyde Street, as reported by the San Francisco Police Department. According to authorities, the sequence of events unfolded when a white BMW allegedly ran a red light and was subsequently clipped by a black Audi SUV.
The force of the impact sent the BMW into an uncontrollable spin, ultimately colliding with May who was standing on the sidewalk at the time.
Tragically, Richard D. May sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to them at the scene.
Both Drivers Involved With The Accident Emerged Unscathed
Remarkably, both drivers involved in the collision emerged unharmed. However, the driver of the vehicle responsible for striking the pedestrian was taken into custody.
The San Francisco Police Department has taken charge of the investigation into this heartbreaking incident.
