San Jose, CA (September 28, 2023). A heart-wrenching pedestrian accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, September 26th. The incident resulted in the tragic loss of a man’s life on South Jackson Avenue. The incident unfolded at approximately 3:23 a.m., leaving the community in shock.
Peterbilt Garbage Truck Hits Man When Exiting A Parking Lot
The grim turn of events transpired as a 2021 Peterbilt garbage truck exited a rear parking lot, only to collide with a male pedestrian in the vicinity of the 400 block of South Jackson Avenue. This location sits approximately one block south of Alum Rock Avenue.
Despite swift response from authorities and emergency personnel, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office is withholding the identity of the victim, pending formal confirmation and notification of next of kin.
