Vernon Acampora Killed in Bellflower Crash on 91 Freeway; Two Injured

BELLFLOWER, CA (October 31, 2022) – Early in the morning on Saturday near Bellflower, a crash on the 91 Freeway killed a person and injured two other people. Vernon Acampora was later identified as the person who was killed in the October 29 crash, which occurred close to where the offramp for Bellflower Boulevard is located.

The time was roughly a little after 3:15 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

No details have yet been reported on how the crash happened, but authorities said a vehicle–which has not been described–was stalled on the freeway in a middle lane.

Responders arrived to help, but Acampora was killed in the crash. He was a resident of Paramount, 55 years old.

Responders transported two patients to hospitals in the area. The identities of the two people–including names, ages, genders, and cities of residence–have not been reported.

Investigators are continuing their process to collect information and details in order to understand the crash.
