Two-vehicle Crash in Clairemont Area of San Diego Seriously Injures One Person

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 20, 2021) – Late in the afternoon on Monday in San Diego, two vehicles collided, seriously injuring one person. The Jul 19 crash occurred in the area of Clairemont, at Chateau Drive and Genesee Avenue.

The time was roughly 4:30 p.m., San Diego Police said.

No details have yet been reported on how the crash happened, and what line of travel each vehicle had been taking prior to colliding. According to reports, one of the vehicles ended up on a guardrail, and the other vehicle ended up against a light pole.

Responders arrived and transported a person to Scripps Memorial. The patient suffered injuries that were described as serious.

The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. It is not known if the person had been a driver or a passenger.

No one else involved in the crash has been identified, and it is not known if others were injured.

Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
