Man Hit and Killed by Car on 205 Freeway in Tracy
Tracy, CA (November 14, 2023) . In the early hours of Saturday, November 11, a devastating incident unfolded on the 205 Freeway. A truck overturned, resulting in the death of a Good Samaritan. The fatal crash occurred around 3:45 a.m., just west of Grant Line Road.
Good Samaritan Dies Being Hit by Car On 205 Freeway
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a Toyota truck traveling eastbound on the freeway inexplicably rolled over on its side, marking the beginning of a chain of events leading to the tragic fatality. A 36-year-old Patterson man, driving a big rig, witnessed the overturned truck and halted his journey to render assistance in extracting the Toyota driver from the vehicle.
As the Good Samaritan commenced his walk back to his big rig, tragedy struck once again. A 23-year-old Modesto resident, behind the wheel of a red Kia sedan and traveling at approximately 65-70 mph, collided with the Patterson man. The driver of the Kia, reportedly focused on two vehicles pulled over, remained oblivious to both the overturned truck and the man walking back to his big rig.

Regrettably, the Patterson man succumbed to his injuries at the scene, with authorities withholding his identity pending notification of next of kin.
The 23-year-old woman driving the Kia sustained minor injuries in the collision. As of now, there is no available information on the condition of the truck driver in the initial rollover crash.
