Suspected Arrested in Dump Truck Pursuit in Alhambra

Alhambra, CA (August 12, 2019)- The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested a suspect following a wild and dangerous police pursuit through the San Gabriel Valley early Monday morning, August 12th. The chase began near the Highland Park area, a neighborhood in northeast Los Angeles, after a suspect stole a dump truck and police officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop around 5:20 A.M. The pursuit led officers onto the northbound 110 freeway in Pasadena and continued north before the suspect exited and began to travel south in the Alhambra area. The pursuit ended 30 minutes later when the dump truck crashed into several vehicles at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Atlantic Boulevard. The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended by officers a block away at Norwood Place and Olive Avenue.
