1 Person Dead after Car Crashes into RV and Tree on Hwy 237 in Sunnyvale
Sunnyvale, CA (February 18, 2024) – First responders arrived on the scene early Sunday morning on Highway 237 near Highway 101, as a fatal collision involving a car, an RV, and a tree took the life of one individual.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. The sequence of events leading to the crash remains unclear, but it is believed that the driver of a westbound vehicle lost control, resulting in a collision with an RV. The car then careened off the road, striking a tree on the shoulder, and subsequently caught fire.
Emergency Services Swiftly Put Out The Fire, But Couldn’t Save The Victim
Emergency services, including paramedics and authorities, swiftly responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze. Unfortunately, upon examination, responders discovered one individual in the car who had tragically succumbed to their injuries.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim, nor have they indicated whether factors such as impairment or adverse weather conditions contributed to the accident. The CHP has urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist with their investigation.
