Stockton, CA (November 16, 2023) – A fatal multi-car accident unfolded on Wednesday around 5:36 a.m. on Highway 4 near Highway 99, resulting in the loss of a man’s life.
Multi-Car Collision on Highway 4 near Highway 99 Leaves 1 Dead
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred under foggy weather conditions. A 35-year-old man, traveling eastbound, ventured into the westbound lanes to overtake slower-moving traffic. In a harrowing turn of events, an oncoming Volvo big rig appeared in the man’s path, prompting him to take evasive action. Despite his efforts, the two vehicles collided, sending the man’s vehicle spinning into eastbound traffic, where it collided with a Hyundai and a Toyota.
The cascading impact continued as an oncoming Ford driver, unable to discern the man’s vehicle through the thick fog, collided with the passenger side, causing the car to veer into a nearby embankment.
