86-Year-Old Man Killed in Suspected DUI Crash on 5 Fwy in Stockton
STOCKTON, CA (January 5, 2025) – An 86-year-old man lost his life in a suspected DUI crash on the 5 Freeway early Sunday morning, January 5, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. near Turner Road. Unfortunately, authorities reported that a 29-year-old man driving a 2012 Toyota Camry southbound on the freeway struck a 2003 Honda Civic, driven by an elderly victim.
Impact of the Crash Caused Victim To Go Off The Road Where He Ended Up Roof Down
The impact caused the Civic to veer off the roadway, overturn, and come to rest on its roof down an embankment. Also, emergency responders arrive at the scene and attempt life-saving measures, but the victim is pronounced dead on-site.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.
The driver of the Camry was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI. But, the CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
