Semi Truck and Car Crash on Highway 41 in San Luis Obispo County, Causing Injuries

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA (October 7, 2021) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in San Luis Obispo County, a car and a semi truck collided, causing injuries and damage. The October 5 crash occurred on Highway 41 near the Cholame “Y” intersection, with the semi truck ending up off the roadway.

The time was roughly 6:06 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two vehicles–described as a semi-truck and a Honda Accord–collided. The manner in which the crash happened has not been described.

The semi truck went off the northbound side of the roadway, and plunged down an embankment. The truck overturned onto one side and came to a stop.

Responders from CAL FIRE SLO arrived on scene to help. Two patients suffered injuries in the collision. The types of injuries were described as minor for one of the patients, and moderate for the other.

Neither person has been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if each person had been a driver in the incident.

Investigators are continuing their work on the crash to discover its causes.
