Multi-Vehicle Crash on The 238 Freeway in Alameda County Causes Traffic Problems
SAN LORENZO, CA (March 6, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on the southbound Interstate 238 Freeway early Thursday morning led to traffic delays and injuries, including a possible injury to a child, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred just before 7:45 a.m. on March 6, just north of Ashland Avenue. Several vehicles were involved, including a black Subaru Crosstrek, a white Honda Accord, a red Honda, and a Toyota Corolla. A red Toyota Camry sustained significant damage and was among the vehicles towed from the scene.
First Responders Closed The Number 1 Lane Causing Significant Traffic Congestion
Emergency responders arrived on-site to assess injuries and provide medical assistance. While details on the extent of injuries remain unclear, a child from one of the involved vehicles may have been hurt, authorities said.
The collision forced the closure of the No. 1 lane, causing significant traffic congestion during the morning commute. CHP officers worked to clear the roadway and requested towing services to remove the damaged vehicles.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. Authorities urge motorists to remain vigilant, maintain safe distances, and minimize distractions while driving to prevent similar incidents.
