Pedestrian Killed in Crash at Almaden Expressway & Ironwood Drive
SAN JOSE, CA (March 22, 2025) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday night at the intersection of Almaden Expressway and Ironwood Drive, marking the city’s seventh traffic fatality of the year, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The collision occurred around 10:15 PM on March 22. Police say a man driving a red 2009 Kia sedan was traveling southbound on Almaden Expressway when he struck the pedestrian.
First Responders Pronounced The Victim Dead At The Scene of the Accident
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the male victim dead. His identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
