Motorcyclist Injured in Collision on I-80 Near Central Avenue
RICHMOND, CA (May 22, 2025) — A motorcyclist was injured in a two-vehicle collision Thursday morning on the westbound I-80 Freeway near the Central Avenue exit, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 7 a.m. on May 22 and involved a gray Yamaha R6 motorcycle and another vehicle in the freeway’s slow lane. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of the vehicle struck the motorcycle, causing the rider to go down on the roadway.
The Motorcyclist Sustained A Leg Injury
The motorcyclist sustained a leg injury along with other reported pain. Emergency crews responded quickly. And the rider was treated at the scene before being transported by ambulance for further medical care. The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The accident caused minor damage to the motorcycle, and crews towed it from the location.
CHP investigators are continuing to determine the circumstances and fault surrounding the crash. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the California Highway Patrol.
