RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (July 7, 2022) – Early in the morning on Monday in Rancho Cordova, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The July 4 crash occurred at the westbound onramp for Highway 50 from Sunrise Boulevard.
The time was roughly a little before 2:00 a.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to authorities, responders arrived at the crash site to help, but the woman died at the scene.
Her identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Reports say the woman was within a crosswalk when she was found by responders.
Investigators are searching for the hit-and-run driver, who has not been described, and the vehicle, which has also not been described.
They are continuing to gather information about the crash.
