Pedestrian Killed in Santa Maria Hit-and-run Crash on North Broadway

SANTA MARIA, CA (July 14, 2021) – Late at night on Saturday in Santa Maria, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The July 10 crash occurred on North Broadway in the 500 block.

The time was roughly a little before 11:30 p.m., Michael McGehee said. McGehee is a sergeant with Santa Maria Police.

The pedestrian had been walking across the road when the vehicle struck. The person driving the vehicle did not stop to help the victim.

The victim died in the crash. The person’s identity, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver, and the vehicle, neither of which has been described.
