Vallejo Hit-and-Run Accident Leaves Man Injured
Vallejo, CA (December 20, 2025) — A hit-and-run incident on Sandpiper Drive near Volcano Court left 64-year-old Melvin Jones injured on December 20. The accident occurred in front of Jones’ home as he was preparing to exit his car.
According to reports, Jones noticed an oncoming vehicle barreling toward him and managed to pull himself back into his car moments before impact. The vehicle struck and destroyed his wheelchair, injuring his foot in the process.
Vallejo Police Have Yet To Identify The Suspect
The driver fled the scene and remains at large. Authorities have yet to identify the suspect or the vehicle involved.
In response to the incident, Orlando Graham, founder of Vallejo’s Boys and Girls Empowerment Group, organized a GoFundMe campaign to support Jones, who serves as a commissioner and leader at the nonprofit community center. The organization provides activities and resources for low-income families.
Vallejo Authorities Are Asking The Public For Help In This Case
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is urged to contact the Vallejo Police Department.
