Head-on Crash on Walerga Road Kills Driver in Placer County

PLACER COUNTY, CA (July 19, 2022) – On Friday night in Placer County, a head-on crash killed a driver. The July 15 crash occurred on Walerga Road, close to where Town Center Avenue is located, and to the north of it.

Reports say that according to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle–described as a Corvette–had been traveling on Walerga Road and going southbound.

The Corvette went over the center divider and into the lane of oncoming traffic.

The Corvette collided head on with a vehicle–described as a Chevrolet Malibu–that was traveling northbound.

The force of the crash threw the person who was driving the Corvette from the vehicle..

Responders pronounced the person deceased at the crash site. He was identified only as 68 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

The person who was driving the Malibu suffered injuries that were described as minor. Responders transported the patient to a hospital in the area for treatment.

The Malibu driver’s identity is not known from reports.

Investigators are at work to collect information and details about the crash to understand its causes.
