LOMPOC, CA (May 4, 2022) – Early in the morning on Monday, a head-on crash in an area between Lompoc and Buellton seriously injured two people. The May 2 crash occurred on Highway 246, close to Campbell Road.
The time was roughly 6:32 a.m., Santa Barbara County Fire said.
Responders arrived and worked to free two people and two cats who were trapped in the wreckage.
The vehicles have not been described.
Responders transported the patients for treatment at a hospital. The types of injuries suffered were described only as serious.
The current conditions of the patients are not known. Neither person has been identified in reports.
Investigators are at work to understand why the crash happened.
