Semi-Truck Crash Creates Chain-Reaction on I-680 in Fremont

FREMONT, CA (March 19, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck caused significant traffic disruptions Wednesday morning on southbound Interstate 680, just north of Auto Mall Parkway.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred around 6:32 a.m. on March 19 and involved four vehicles. Officials reported that the driver of a blue Peterbilt truck and trailer collided with a vehicle, triggering a chain reaction that involved a white GMC pickup truck, a grey Lexus sedan, and a blue Hyundai Elantra.

Emergency Responders Report No Serious Injuries

No serious injuries were reported when emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist those involved. Tow trucks were dispatched to clear the damaged vehicles, including the Lexus and Hyundai, from the roadway.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.
