The eastbound 22 was a commuter’s nightmare on Monday morning after a five-vehicle crash clogged up traffic for a few hours.

The accident occurred at about 7 a.m. near the Haster Street exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The apparent chain-reaction crash occurred in the No. 2 and 3 lanes when a Toyota Sienna rear-ended a Toyota Yaris. The Yaris then spun out of control into the path of an oncoming Honda Element. The Element collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Jeep Cherokee.

The driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe was treated for minor injuries at the scene and was later taken to a local hospital. She was the only person injured in the crash.

The lanes were cleared at 7:30 a.m., but traffic remained backed-up for several hours.
