Denley Angeles Dies While Crossing Katella to Catch a Bus In Anaheim

Anaheim, CA (December 1, 2011) – A young woman died Thursday morning after a car hit her as she tried to cross Katella to catch a bus. Rescuers took 18-year-old Denley Angeles to UCI Medical Center where she died a little before 8:00 a.m. on December 1, 2011. Several hours earlier, around 6:00 a.m. according to Anaheim police, a Toyota Camry hit the woman near the intersection of Katella and Harbor Boulevard, The Orange County Register reports.

Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn said in the Register’s news story that Denley Angeles appeared to be getting off the bus and trying to cross the street to catch another bus when the vehicle hit her.

The driver of the car that hit the victim stayed on scene and cooperated with police. Investigators are looking into whether the victim or the driver had the right of way.
